The spot mainly works with a wind orientation of W to NW, with useful exposure also during certain episodes of Tramontane and Autan. It is an inland body of water, so there is no tidal effect, and conditions mainly depend on the lake level and the actual wind strength. The water remains more exploitable when the wind is well established, as the surface can be irregular on a large exposed lake.

Launching depends heavily on the water level. When the lake is low, a large gravel beach facilitates takeoff and equipment preparation. When the level is high, starting becomes more technical and often requires taking off on the grass strip, with outside assistance, as autonomous takeoff can be difficult. The navigation area is on the main expanse of the lake, while remaining attentive to the banks and launch areas frequented by bathers in season.

The spot is suitable for freeride and inland water navigation, with enough space to navigate comfortably. The key point here is mainly the management of the water level, as it directly conditions access, takeoff, and overall comfort at the spot. It is an interesting site when looking for a vast, calm body of water that is less crowded than coastal spots.
