Le Havre

In the heart of the city, facing the English Channel and bordered by the famous promenade seawall, the Havre beach is an iconic urban spot, recognizable by its vast expanse of pebbles and its completely open horizon to the sea. Dominated by modern buildings and Perret architecture, it offers a unique atmosphere blending city and sea. This spot can provide great powerful sessions when conditions are well aligned, but it requires discipline, anticipation, and a good understanding of the maritime environment.

Detailed information

Navigation takes place in open sea, on a pebble beach highly dependent on the tide. At low tide, launching is technical due to the pebbles and the steep slope. At high tide, the depth quickly becomes sufficient but space at the shore is greatly reduced. The dominant wind blows from west to northwest, arriving side to side-onshore. The water is generally choppy to rough, with short and powerful waves when swells are present.
