Plage du port de Navarrosse
France · Nouvelle-Aquitaine
The beach of the port of Navarrosse, located on the lake of Cazaux-Sanguinet in Biscarrosse, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, is a popular spot for its easy access from the port. It is a calm place surrounded by pines, with shallow fresh water that is well-suited for first sessions.
Open from September 1 to May 31, this spot mainly attracts beginners and intermediates for its stable water surface without tides or waves. Locals appreciate the spacious preparation area and the easy navigation between the channel and the hunting buoy.
In summer, access is prohibited to preserve swimming, but for the rest of the year, it is a safe choice for progressing quietly.

The dominant wind comes from the north, providing an ideal side-on orientation relative to the east-west oriented beach. The navigation area is located between the Navarrosse channel and the hunting buoy, with direct water entry from the port beach. The launch area is wide and grassy, perfect for preparing the kite without hassle. Be careful to go upwind to avoid drifting towards the port or the prohibited conche to the north, marked by yellow buoys. The water remains flat without tides, making jibes and jumps easier, but for foiling, you need to walk 10 minutes in shallow water before finding enough depth. The spot is more accessible than other nearby lakes like Mayotte, and the freshwater is clear in summer.
