Coudeville-Plage

The beach of Coudeville-sur-Mer, located on the Normandy coast facing the Chausey Islands, is a long stretch of fine sand semi-urban and well-equipped. It is a popular spot for intermediate riders due to its generous space and orientation exposed to the prevailing winds.

Very wild in places, it offers a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of room to navigate. Locals particularly appreciate its shallow depth and easy access from the Route des Sapins.

Close to Granville, it is a solid choice for freeride or slalom sessions in the English Channel.

معلومات مفصلة

The beach of Coudeville-Plage is oriented northwest/southeast, making it ideal for winds from SE, S, SW, W, and NW, often side-on or side-shore from southeast to west. The water surface is generally choppy with small waves, more agitated in strong winds but still manageable due to the shallow depth.

Launching is done directly from the very long sandy beach, with no major obstacles. The launch area is wide and spacious, perfect for beginners learning but especially for intermediates in freeride. Free navigation 300-500m offshore before it becomes more choppy, with slalom sessions possible in side-on wind.

Be cautious of the tides that influence the water surface: more flat at low tide in the shallow area near the shore, and choppy with small waves at high tide. Gusts are common in the English Channel, so anticipate shifts in direction. No marked prohibited areas but be vigilant about summer crowds.
