The predominant wind in the bay is generally from the West to Southwest, which often provides a side-on to side-shore wind from the beach depending on local orientation and tide. The water surface is highly dependent on the tide: at low tide, the bay reveals a wide flat foreshore with little water, at high tide the depth increases but often remains shallow near the shore. Launching is usually done from the sandy beach; expect to walk at low tide to reach sufficient water.

Navigation areas: the main area is frontal to the central and southern beach, avoiding the northern area where salt marshes and some rocks emerge. For takeoff/landing, use the clear sandy area and keep a safety zone free around the launch area. Avoid the main channel and areas frequented by water activities (fishing, walkers) especially at high tide.

Local particularities: the bay is vast and flat at low tide, which facilitates learning but requires anticipating the tide to avoid being stranded offshore with little water. The wind can vary in strength and direction due to local effects and relief: consult local forecasts before heading out.
