Tarifa
Balneario is an iconic spot in Tarifa, located right next to the port and under the castle. It is a popular place for experienced riders due to its demanding conditions and lively atmosphere in the city.
The fine sandy beach stretches about 150 meters, with bars and parking nearby. Public showers are available for a good part of the year.
The spot is closed to kitesurfing from June 15 to September 15, but remains open the rest of the time for advanced and expert.

Informações detalhadas
Balneario mainly works with the Levante, an east offshore wind that can reach up to 45 knots and create intense conditions for freestyle or big air. With the Poniente (west), it is side-on-shore with a chop water surface and small waves of 1 meter, even more in case of swells of 2 meters on average, perfect for surfkite.
The north wind is rare (5% of the days) but offers a constant side-shore with a slightly choppy ocean, ideal for surfkite in medium to strong swell. The navigation area is small and technical, with direct launching from the sandy beach without pebbles. Be careful to stay within the authorized area, especially out of the summer season when there is no rescue boat.
The beach faces the Atlantic Ocean, near the Isla de la Paloma which separates the Atlantic and Mediterranean. For launching, prefer the clear areas near the port, but the spot is narrow so be vigilant about kite traffic.
