Plage de la Chambrette
France · Nouvelle-Aquitaine
The Chambrette beach, located in Verdon-sur-Mer at the tip of Médoc, is a small bay on the Gironde estuary. It is a well-oriented spot that mainly works with East to Northeast winds, offering interesting conditions for kiters looking for a flat and sheltered water surface.
Unlike the ocean beaches of Verdon, Chambrette faces the estuary with calm waters and few waves, making it a favored place for progression. The presence of a dike allows for the use of a well-protected area from the wind, and the muddy bottom helps maintain a smooth water surface even with wind. It is a less crowded spot with a sandy beach for takeoff and amenities nearby.
Médias históricas por mês — não é uma previsão ao vivo.
The Chambrette works with East, NE, and N winds, making it one of the few spots in the region usable with these orientations. The wind is side-shore to side-on depending on the conditions. With North wind, a wind shadow area may be present at the takeoff beach; in this case, it is preferable to land and take off from the inner water.
The spot works ideally at high tide, from 2 hours before to 2 hours after. At low tide, the channels offer interesting areas but navigation becomes more technical. The water surface between each wave is protected and offers excellent play terrain for tricks. A beach is reserved for kitesurfing, just below the tourist beach, south of the wooden stakes. The parking is very close with many amenities nearby.
