Plage de Montalivet
France · Nouvelle-Aquitaine
The beach of Montalivet, in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, is a long stretch of sand on the Atlantic coast near Vendays-Montalivet. It is a spot known for its naturist area at CHM Monta, where locals often come to ride in a relaxed atmosphere.
The spot attracts kiters thanks to its vast beach and typical windy conditions of the ocean. Several schools like Monta Surf School or Carakas offer lessons for all levels.
Just a few minutes' walk from the naturist area, there are zones dedicated to kitesurfing with easy access and a nice length for navigation.
Médias históricas por mês — não é uma previsão ao vivo.
The beach of Montalivet is oriented north-south facing the Atlantic Ocean, making it ideal for side-on winds from the northwest or side-shore from the north, which are most frequent in season. The water state varies with the tides: at low tide, it becomes more shallow with sand emerging, perfect for beginners who want to progress safely; at high tide, the water rises and offers more space for jumps and freestyle.
Launching is done directly from the wide, clean sandy beach, with a large take-off and landing area suitable for crowded sessions. The navigation zones extend several hundred meters along the coast, while remaining vigilant about bathers in summer. Local features include the proximity of the naturist area, so we respect the spaces dedicated to kiting to avoid conflicts.
In case of strong winds from the southwest, it turns onshore and the water state quickly becomes choppy, better for intermediates who enjoy small to medium waves.
