Kite Surf Beach
Egypt · Mer-Rouge
The beach of Kite Surf Beach, located in Hurghada on the Red Sea in Egypt, offers a dedicated kitesurfing area with a wide sandy beach for take-off and upwind riding. It is a popular spot for its shallow water and easy access to navigation areas.
Near the beach, windward sandbanks create an ideal terrain for progression or fun in flat water. The setting is complemented by the underwater beauty of the Red Sea, a true natural aquarium.
On-site schools provide storage, supervision, and boat outings for independent riders or those in training.

The main wind comes from the north, often side-on shore relative to the east-facing beach, providing good consistency for take-off directly from the sandy beach. The launch area is wide and easily accessible, with a dedicated kite beach separated from windsurfing areas.
In front of the beach, the water is shallow for dozens of meters, perfect for water starts and maneuvers, before reaching deeper areas. At high tide, one can navigate further towards the sandbanks accessible in a few tacks or by boat shuttle in 10 minutes.
For beginners, a monitored area by boat offers calm and shallow water; advanced riders can take a 2 km tack for freeride or freestyle sessions. The water surface is generally flat but can become choppy with strong wind or at low tide where the wind is gustier in front of the beach.
Schools like Osmosis or Fun and Fly manage take-offs, landings, and rescues with boats; side-off orientation makes the wind irregular, better to stay close-hauled.
