The Centre Beach in Bidart, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, is a central surf spot accessible on foot from the village. It offers a relaxed atmosphere with its consistent waves, popular with both beginners and experienced surfers.
Close to the mouth of the Uhabia, the beach becomes sandy in summer and absorbs all swells well. It is a consistent beach break that works year-round, with a friendly atmosphere animated by local surf schools.
The spot withstands swell and often serves as a backup plan when the waves get bigger elsewhere on the Basque coast.

The Centre Beach is oriented westward, making it sensitive to east winds in offshore conditions perfect for smoothing the water surface, while rare but rideable south winds are side-on for kitesurfing. Launching is done directly from the sandy beach, with a possible take-off area to the north towards the Uhabia for kites in the off-season. The water surface varies with the tide: at low tide, waves form near the shore on a partially drying bottom, while at high tide it gains depth and power. The navigation areas are central, avoiding the rocky ends; the Uhabia river carves sandbanks that create symmetrical rights and lefts. In summer, kitesurfing is limited to 6am-10am on the neighboring Uhabia, and off-season it is free on this beach; watch for crowds and station leaders. The north thermal is weak, better for foiling, prefer stable east winds for glassy sessions.
