Guajiru

Guajiru is one of those villages where time seems to have stopped. Halfway between Flecheiras and Mundaú, this little gem of the Ceará coastline offers everything a kitesurfer could dream of: constant wind, warm water, endless beaches, and zero stress. Here, there are no crowds, no noisy beach clubs — just a few pousadas, hammocks in the shade of coconut trees, and the sound of the wind whistling through the palms. The beach stretches for several kilometers, and the wind blows almost uninterrupted for over six months straight. What makes Guajiru special is its modifiable water surface: at low tide, a natural lagoon forms between the sandbanks, offering a mirror-like flat water worthy of the best freestyle spots. At high tide, the sea is covered with a slight chop, perfect for freeride or downwinds towards Flecheiras or Mundaú. It’s a versatile, ultra-consistent, and still preserved spot, ideal for those seeking tranquility and quality sailing above all.

Informazioni dettagliate

Kitesurfing in Guajiru is a true pleasure of simplicity. The wind blows side-onshore consistently, between 18 and 26 knots, and the beach, wide and sandy, makes it easy to get in the water even for beginners. At low tide, vast areas of flat water appear, perfectly smooth, ideal for freestyle or learning safely. At mid tide, the water surface maintains good stability, slightly choppy but always clean. At high tide, small waves form, without excess, allowing surfkite enthusiasts to have fun offshore. The sandy bottom and total absence of rocks make it a reassuring spot. Intermediate riders find a perfect balance between comfort, space, and performance. The downwinds between Flecheiras, Guajiru, and Mundaú are among the most enjoyable in the Nordeste: constant wind, deserted coastline, and stunning dune scenery as far as the eye can see.

Rischi e sicurezza

  • Guajiru is a safe and gentle spot, perfect for progressing without stress. The side-on wind naturally brings you back to the beach.
  • The only point of attention: at high tide, the available space for takeoff or landing can shrink, especially in front of the seaside pousadas.
  • Just walk a few hundred meters further north, where the beach is wide and clear.
  • No official rescue, but the local community always discreetly watches over the riders. And as often in Brazil, the atmosphere is friendly and supportive.
