Praia Flecheiras
Brazil · Ceará
About 140 kilometers west of Fortaleza, Flecheiras is a small coastal village still preserved from mass tourism, nestled between white dunes and coconut trees. This spot is a hidden gem: a vast beach, a turquoise sea, natural pools at low tide, and above all, a constant wind, true to the Nordeste. The atmosphere is peaceful and warm — here, the rhythm aligns with that of the wind and the tides. Flecheiras attracts both beginner kitesurfers and experienced riders. The water is vast, the beach is clear, and the conditions are ideal for progressing without stress. The village, small but charming, is organized around a few pousadas and seaside restaurants. At sunset, we still watch the sails float in the golden light, while fishermen pull their nets by hand. It’s a spot that encapsulates the spirit of the Nordeste: simple, authentic, and incredibly pleasant to live in.

Sailing at Flecheiras is the luxury of being able to ride in all possible configurations. At low tide, the sea recedes significantly and forms natural flat water lagoons, protected by the sandbar. This is the perfect time to work on freestyle or learn the basics safely. At mid tide, the water gains depth, the water surface becomes slightly choppy but remains very consistent. At high tide, the swell comes to kiss the beach, with small soft and spaced waves, perfect for freeride. The side-on wind from east to southeast blows steadily between 18 and 26 knots, ensuring smooth and predictable sailing. The sandy bottom everywhere and the very gradual slope allow for confident distance sailing. The beach, vast and uncrowded, also provides a perfect setting for beginners who need space to take off and land their kites without stress. The local schools know the spot perfectly and ensure a caring presence on the water.
