The spot works well with a side-on east wind from the west-oriented beach, ideal for kitesurfing and wingfoiling. The launch is directly from the fine sandy beach, but avoid taking off too close to buildings or the port to the east. The navigation area is defined west of channel n°6, 100m wide and 40m deep, beyond the 300m coastal strip.
During the summer period from May 1 to October 30, powered boards are not allowed within 300m of the shore, only perpendicular transit to the offshore is permitted at less than 5 knots. Off-season, it is more free, but the bay is very busy with boats, moorings, and sailing schools. The water surface is generally calm and sheltered, perfect for riders who go beyond swimming areas.
Be cautious of water sports providers like Lavandou Water Sports or Jet 007 who animate the central area. For a safe session, head out quickly offshore where the water remains shallow with a sandy bottom.
