France · Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur
The Gigaro beach, located in La Croix-Valmer in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, is a beautiful stretch of fine sand bordered by pine trees and beach restaurants. It is a popular spot among locals for its relaxed atmosphere and clear water.
To the right of the bay, there are small waves suitable for freeride, while the central area is well-suited for kitesurfing in season. The environment is family-friendly in summer, with bars and water activities.
The spot is prohibited for kitesurfing during the high summer season for safety and crowd reasons, but remains open the rest of the year.

Gigaro beach is oriented southwest, which favors side-on to side-shore winds from the northwest or north, the best for kitesurfing. Launching is done directly from the wide sand in the center of the bay, with an easy take-off area on the clear beach off-season.
The navigation area extends offshore from the bay, staying to the right to enjoy small waves in freeride, but you should avoid the left area near the rocks. Depending on the tides, the water remains navigable without major changes, as Mediterranean tides are weak; at low tide, the shore is sandier and more stable.
Local peculiarity: the spot is crowded in summer with bathers and paddle, hence the kite prohibition from June to September generally. In autumn and spring, the thermal wind picks up in the afternoon, ideal for long sessions. Be cautious of fishermen and boats offshore.
