Plage de Beauvallon
France · Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur
Beauvallon beach, located in Port-Grimaud in the Var, is a small wild spot in front of the Domaine de Beauvallon. It is accessible 400 meters after the camping des Mures coming from Saint-Tropez, with a beautiful sandy beach that stretches for 200 meters and an unobstructed view of the bell tower of Saint-Tropez.
A free parking area is available along the road, which is rare in the area. The beach is supervised in summer, but a private section is located on the right. It is a popular spot for its protected area and local atmosphere.
The spot is perfect for foil and is mainly suitable for experienced riders, with sometimes strong winds.

The Beauvallon spot mainly works with winds from the south/southwest or west, which come in side-on or side-shore relative to the south-facing beach. Winds from east, ESE, and SE are also recommended and bring chop and small waves. The navigation area extends about 200-300 meters long, with direct access from the sandy beach.
The take-off and landing area is complicated due to beachgoers in summer and strong winds, so timing is crucial. The water state is ocean-like with chop and small waves, independent of tides but influenced by swell that can easily come in. In winter, the north thermal in the early morning is great for foil, and in summer in the late afternoon with 15 knots of regular south winds.
Local peculiarity: kitesurfing is prohibited in summer due to bathers, so prefer off-season periods. Freeride and freestyle navigation for intermediates and experts, with crystal clear water but caution in wave areas.
