Lagune du Letty
France · Bretagne
The Letty lagoon in Bénodet, southern Brittany, is a charming small body of water between Bénodet and Fouesnant. It offers a peaceful setting with fine sand and a relaxed atmosphere, popular with local riders.
At high tide, it fills with shallow water, perfect for kiting. At low tide, the water completely recedes, allowing you to walk across to the White Sea on the other side of the dune.
It is a double-sided spot that works in several wind directions, with a nearby UCPA school for guided sessions.

The Letty lagoon is generally oriented southwest and works ideally with winds from south to east in side-shore or side-on, as it is a closed sea protected from waves. Winds from SSE, S, SSW, SW are recommended for optimal water conditions, but it can work in all directions due to its sheltered configuration.
At high tide, the water is flat to chop with little depth, ideal for waterstarts and freestyle in shallow water. The launch can be done from several access points, the best being the long peninsula to the south of the lagoon which offers the most space to take off and land the kite. At low tide, the lagoon completely empties, making navigation impossible on the lagoon side but allowing access on foot to the White Sea to ride on the ocean if conditions are good there.
The navigation area is wide at high tide, but remains shallow everywhere, perfect for progressing without risking the bottom. Be cautious at low tide where the current accelerates at the mouth. Parking next to the UCPA at low tide, or on Kerler beach at high tide with a bit of walking. On the White Sea side, accessible via the tip of Cor de Groasguen to avoid the naturist beach.
