Plage de Saint-Pierre-la-Mer
France · Occitanie
The Saint-Pierre-la-Mer beach, located in Fleury between Cap d’Agde and Gruissan, offers a vast wild beach ideal for kitesurfing. It is a monitored spot from April to October by the local school Glisse & Kite, which organizes competitions such as the Junior Freestyle World Cup.
A dedicated area for water activities allows beginners to safely learn on the sand. The natural setting at the foot of the Massif de la Clape makes the place authentic and preserved.
Riders come for its consistent wind and friendly atmosphere, with sea and lagoon options nearby.

The beach is oriented east-west, which means that the north or northwest wind (Tramontane) is side-on perfect for a flat water, ideal for freestyle or freeride. The south wind (sea breeze) is onshore and generates nice waves for surfing, but brings you back to the beach.
The official kitesurfing area is marked in summer by a channel and signs, over 300 meters towards the sea, secured by the school. Easy water entry on the large sandy beach, take-off on the ground in the area dedicated to beginners.
With Tramontane (NW), it’s side-off which pushes offshore, so mandatory monitoring via the school’s safety packages if you are not an expert in upwind riding. Tides have little impact on the coastal water, but check the coefficients for currents. Long-distance freeride possible on good days, with an adjacent lagoon for wake or board.
