The spot works best with wind from the NW to W, often in side-shore or side-on depending on the exact orientation of the flow. When the wind is well established, one can kitesurf on a fairly clean water surface offshore from the beach, with a direct launch area from the sand. The beach offers few obstacles, but it is important to keep space for takeoff and landing, as the area can quickly become crowded in season.
The water surface mainly depends on the wind strength and the sea state of the day. In moderate winds, one often finds relatively regular water with some chop. When the wind picks up or swell comes in, the area becomes more agitated, and takeoff may require good control of the kite. The spot remains more comfortable with a low tide, as the Mediterranean has a weak influence on water level here. Navigation is mainly done offshore, avoiding staying too close to the shore when the wind becomes gusty.
Launching is done from the beach, with a careful organization of the inflation and preparation area to avoid disturbing swimmers in high season. Experienced riders will appreciate the width of the site and the possibility to quickly head towards deeper water. Beginners may find space, but it is important to stay vigilant as the spot can become technical when the wind is strong and irregular.
