Sainte-Marguerite

The beach of Sainte-Marguerite, located in Landéda in northern Brittany near the Aber Wrac'h, offers a vast stretch of sand ideal for kitesurfing. It is a popular spot for riders due to its shallow waters and consistent wind, set in a wild environment with dunes and authentic Breton villages.

At low tide, the beach extends significantly, creating natural lagoons perfect for training. Locals often come here for freeride or freestyle sessions, taking advantage of the generous space and lack of crowds off-season.

Close to Brest, just 25 minutes away, it is a convenient place with parking and basic amenities, surrounded by coastal paths to combine riding and walking.

Informazioni dettagliate

The spot works well with a side-onshore wind coming from the SW, W, NW or NNW, which is dominant in Brittany and offers consistent power without too much rising. At high tide, the water is deeper and the water surface transitions from flat to moderate chop, ideal for freeride and freestyle. At low tide, large sandbanks form flat lagoons perfect for beginners and hydrofoiling, but you need to walk up to 500m to launch.

The navigation area is wide and open, with a sandy beach for easy takeoff and landing. Be cautious of launch channels in summer, often marked. The spot is tidal, so check the tide times: high tide is recommended for more comfort, low tide for ultra-flat areas but technical due to the distance. No official downwinder, but the space allows for long jibes.

Consistent conditions in spring and autumn, with an average of 15-25 knots in the afternoon. For south winds, it is possible but more gusty. Local schools like Rêve O Kite assist with launches.
