Hurghada

The main wind comes from the N, NW, or NNW, providing a perfect side-on to side-shore angle relative to the south-facing beach. In the morning, it is cross-shore from the left, then becomes cross-onshore in the afternoon as the thermal picks up. The launch area is a wide sandy beach of 1.2 km, with a shallow lagoon for 150 to 300 meters depending on the tide, ideal for waterstarts and jibes.

The navigation area extends over a large flat shallow area, with an offshore sandbar creating mini-turquoise lagoons accessible by foot or boat. Beginners stay in the dedicated lagoon, while intermediates and advanced riders head out to the light chop or small 1-meter waves on strong wind days. Launching is done directly from the beach, with no notable shorebreak, and the centers have separate areas to avoid crowding.

Local feature: low tide almost dries up the lagoon, making navigation technical, but at high tide it's perfect. The water surface is generally flat to chop, with moderate waves in strong conditions. Downwinders are possible to other spots in the bay.
