The spot at Eich works well with a west to northwest wind, which comes in side-shore relative to the southeast-facing beach, providing good power without too much crossing. The navigation area extends over the wide and clear lake, with easy launching from the Seebad beach or the adjacent dock. Launching is done directly on the grassy or sandy beach, always clean and accessible.
No tide on this freshwater lake, the water surface remains constant: flat to light chop on moderate wind days, perfect for freestyle or freeride. Be cautious of the rare motorboats allowed (only 400 registered in the canton of Lucerne, speed limited), which circulate little but require vigilance in the central area of the lake. The best sessions occur in the afternoon when the thermal rises, with a large safe area far from the wooded shores.
For beginners, stay close to the beach where you can stand for a long time; experienced riders can freeride out where the wind is more consistent. Avoid days of heavy boating traffic in summer.
