Alonaki Bay mainly works with a wind from W to NW, which generally provides a side-shore to side-on wind depending on the exact orientation on the beach. In these conditions, navigation remains pleasant and fairly clean, with a good margin to head offshore and return without particular difficulty. However, a wind that is too offshore or too side-off requires more experience, as the spot then becomes less reassuring for beginners.

The water surface is generally calmer near the shore, then can become a bit more marked offshore depending on the swell and wind. The spot remains simpler when the sea is stable and the wind is consistent, as the bay does not create a large flat protected lagoon. Getting in the water is done from the beach, with a launch area to manage carefully as space can be limited depending on the crowd and the season.

On site, it is important to keep in mind that the spot is primarily a natural place, with few directly useful infrastructures for kitesurfers. It is better to prepare your equipment in advance, watch out for other beach users, and avoid setting up too close to swimming areas. For a comfortable session, the best conditions are those of an established and steady wind, without excessive gusts.
