Corfu

Paralia Issos mainly works with a side-shore to side-on wind coming from the NW, which remains the most exploitable direction for kiting in this area of Corfu. Sources indicate a fairly regular summer regime, with a breeze often setting in around late morning and increasing to around 12 to 15 knots by midday, sometimes a bit more. The cleanest days are navigated in freeride, with a wide launch area and an easy sandy beach for launching.

The water surface is generally flat to slightly choppy thanks to the dunes and coastal relief that cut some of the wind and chop. Launching is done directly from the beach, in a fairly open area, but it is important to keep space as the site also attracts swimmers and other users during the high season. The spot remains most comfortable when the wind is well established from the NW and the sea is not too formed. However, with a less favorable rotation or too weak a wind, the spot quickly loses quality.

The area is known as a simple spot to navigate, with easy access from the main road in southern Corfu. The beach being long, there is generally enough space to rig and launch, but one must remain attentive to the swimming area and frequent crossings in summer. It is a more enjoyable spot for freeride and foil than for seeking big waves.
