France · Corse
The Taravo beach in Serra-di-Ferro, South Corsica, is a wild sandy beach in the Gulf of Valinco. It attracts kitesurfers for its wide space and regular thermal wind in summer. Close to the Porto Pollo harbor, it is a family-friendly and welcoming spot favored by locals.
The free parking makes access easy, even though the beach remains wild with few facilities. The atmosphere is relaxed, ideal for riding with simplicity.

The Taravo beach is oriented southwest in the Gulf of Valinco, making it ideal for a west side-on or side-shore wind perfect for kitesurfing. Launching is done directly from the wide sandy beach, which is easy to access, but navigation is mandatory beyond 300 meters from the shore to avoid prohibited areas in front of the camping and the Porto Pollo harbor. Always ask locals for the precise navigation zone, especially in the summer season.
The water can quickly become choppy with strong west wind, even rough, while an east wind offers pure flat but completely offshore. The launch area is spacious on the beach, except at the peak of summer when attendance increases. Practice exclusively from Taravo for kiting, unlike wing foiling which is free everywhere.
The thermal is very regular in summer, almost every day, making the spot reliable for long sessions. A traveling school is sometimes present, and a fixed school like Kitesphere operates in the area.
