Pietrosella
The Mare e Sole beach, located in Pietrosella at the extreme south of the Ajaccio gulf, is a beautiful stretch of fine white sand. It is known as the silver beach due to the exceptional clarity of its waters that reflect the sun.
This beach offers a family-friendly setting with a very gentle sloping bottom. You can stand for a long time, ideal for safe swimming. It is sheltered from the wind, with a light breeze in the summer around noon to cool the air.
Nearby, the Verghia beach in the same cove offers umbrella pines, but Mare e Sole remains popular for its sparkling sand and easy access.

Standort
Detaillierte Informationen
The Mare e Sole beach is oriented south-west in the Ajaccio gulf, making it rather sheltered from prevailing winds. For kitesurfing, conditions are rare as the spot is protected from strong breezes, with a generally calm water surface. Side-on or side-shore winds from the south-west can work at low strength, but it is more a spot for beginners or light freestyle.
Launching is easy everywhere thanks to the fine sand and gentle slope. The launch area is directly on the wide beach, but be careful of summer crowds. The navigation area remains close to the shore, in the sheltered bay, with no large space for high jumps or speed. Tides have little impact here, the water surface remains flat with light chop even at low tide.
Local peculiarity: in summer, a thermal breeze rises around noon, side-shore from the south, perfect for a short session. Avoid days with strong north-west winds that generate waves in the bay. Parking is easy, with direct access to the beach.
