Perros-Guirec

Trestraou beach is oriented west, which favors side-shore winds from the east or side-on from the northeast for kitesurfing. The wind is often moderate, around 20-25 km/h with gusts, ideal for controlled sessions. Launching is done directly from the fine sand, easy even for intermediates, with a wide take-off area in the center of the beach.

The water state varies with the tides: at low tide, it is more choppy with small waves (0.8-1.5 m) due to remnants of Atlantic or Channel swell, perfect for beginner freestyle or wave. At high tide, it improves to moderate chop, but be careful of the monitored swimming areas and the zone reserved for water sports. Typically sail offshore to avoid bathers in season, with enough space to turn.

Local feature: strong tidal range (up to 12 m in the region), which transforms the beach into a lagoon at certain times, but here it is more of a beach break. The best times are early mornings or late afternoons outside of summer, with east side-shore wind. Schools on site for courses.
