The Gurp beach spot is oriented westward, making it ideal for side-on winds from the northwest or side-shore winds from the north, typical of the Atlantic coast. The launch area is directly from the sandy beach, easily accessible even for intermediates, with a take-off zone in the middle of the beach to avoid crowded areas.
The water state varies with the tides: at low tide, it becomes more chop with small to medium waves due to the beach break, while at high tide, the waves smooth out a bit but the current can intensify. The navigation area extends several hundred meters along the beach, remaining vigilant about the sandbanks that appear at low tide.
Local peculiarity: high attendance in summer with bathers and surfers, so respect the designated areas. The wind is consistent in season due to ocean exposure, but beware of offshore gusts from the south that can push out to sea.
