The 3 Colonnes in Le Barcarès, Occitanie, is an iconic spot on Lido beach, north of the city center. Formerly a windsurfing temple, it now attracts kitesurfers for its south-oriented winds and nice waves.
The spot is part of the official sites of the municipality, with a dedicated area for practice. Schools like the Mediterranean Nautical Center are available for equipment rental or progression.
Surrounding the area, there are walks to the Cathar castles or the fortress of Salses, to vary the pleasures after a session.

The best sector is facing the 3 Colonnes monument, along Lido Avenue, where you find flat water at the edge and more consistent waves offshore. Tides have little influence on the spot in the Mediterranean, but check the times to avoid holes near the shore.
