The Grande Plage de Carnac is the main beach in the city center, stretching two kilometers of fine sand between the port and the Churchill point. It is an accessible kitesurfing spot appreciated for its favorable orientation and urban beach atmosphere with all services nearby.
Located in southern Brittany, this beach offers an ideal setting for beginners or those looking to progress in kitesurfing. The left half is bordered by dunes that create a more tranquil atmosphere, while the central part has a lifeguard station and access for people with reduced mobility.

The Grande Plage mainly works with winds from southwest, south, and southeast, creating a side-shore to side-on orientation depending on conditions. The spot is accessible at mid-tide and low tide, offering a more stable and predictable water surface at these levels.
Launching is done directly from the central beach where the lifeguard station is located. The navigation area extends across the entire width of the beach, with a good gradual depth. At low tide, the water surface becomes flatter and easier to manage for beginners. Conditions are generally smoother at mid-tide.
Note: Rocks are exposed to the left and right of the beach, particularly visible at low tide. Stay in the central area to avoid these obstacles. The spot is closed from July to the end of August due to summer tourist traffic.
