The spot mainly works with a wind from W to NW, which generally arrives in side-shore or side-on depending on the exact angle. On this North Sea coast, this provides often clean conditions for navigation, with enough space to easily go out and return to the shore.
Launching is done from the large sandy beach, on flat and clear terrain. Take-off is generally simple, but one must keep space to set up the kite as the area is frequented by walkers and the beach can be wide at low tide as well as at high tide.
The water surface varies with the tide. At low tide, there are more sandbanks and shallow areas that can calm the water near the edge. At high tide, the shorebreak can become more present and the useful area tightens, with a more active water surface. The spot remains more comfortable for riders who are at ease with launching and returning in soft sand and varying water levels.
