Plage du Front de Mer
France · Occitanie (Aude)
Port-la-Nouvelle is a typical Mediterranean spot, wide, open, and directly exposed to the Tramontane. It’s a spot for freeride, big air, and foil, perfect for enjoying the strong and laminar wind from the south. Easily accessible, it offers a huge beach, a sandy bottom, and an ideal orientation for powerful sessions. Less crowded than Gruissan or Leucate, it attracts those looking for space and strong wind without the crowd.

The Tramontane blows here side-offshore to side-shore between 20 and 35 knots. The water is flat to slightly choppy depending on wind strength. The water quickly becomes deep, but the beach is huge and safe for launching. With onshore wind (rare), a more wavy water condition can be found, but it’s the Tramontane that gives the spot its reputation. Excellent terrain for fast freeride, big air, or foil.
