The Pointe d’En Tal works well with a side-on or side-shore wind coming from the northwest or west, which runs along the east-facing beach. The water is generally choppy with small to medium waves, more agitated by strong Atlantic swell.
Launching is done directly from the wide and easily accessible sandy beach. The launch area is spacious on the beach edge, but care must be taken with space around bathers in summer. The navigation area extends offshore, while remaining attentive to marine currents and nearby rocks.
Depending on the tides, the water state changes little but the beach widens at low tide, offering more space to ride. Local specifics include the island's isolation: plan your gear and a wetsuit suitable for cold water. The wind is often thermal during the day, reinforced by Atlantic depressions.
