The spot is oriented side-on with Southeast (Marin) or South (thermal) winds, providing choppy water with small to medium waves, perfect for progressing in freestyle or waves. With West winds, it is side-shore protected by the breakwater, with a flat water ideal for tricks and wakestyle, even in strong winds without too much swell. Be cautious with Tramontane (Northwest), as the wind becomes offshore, irregular, and risky to navigate.

The launch is on the medium-sized sandy beach, better to the west where there are fewer people in summer. The navigation area extends into open sea, with a good launch area near the nautical center. Conditions do not depend on tides, but in strong South winds, watch for waves that can grow quickly. Local schools assist with launches, and the spot is zoned for kiting in the summer season, with limited space on the beach due to jetties.

Local feature: the spot is more exposed than Richelieu to the east, but the West breakwater creates a unique flat/waves contrast. Prefer morning sessions to avoid crowds and unstable thermal conditions in the afternoon.
