Safaga Soma Bay

The Abu Soma Riders spot offers regular and powerful wind, often side-on or side-shore coming from the northwest or north, ideal for freeride and freestyle. The launch is directly from the beach of the Amwaj hotel, but be careful of the reef that is exposed at low tide: you need to walk 50 to 100 meters to reach sufficient depth, while at high tide it is direct and hassle-free.

The riding area extends in front of the center with several zones suitable for the tides, and you can easily reach the two islands 1.5 km in front for more varied sessions. The take-off is on the sandy beach, assisted by the team always present for safety. The water surface is generally flat to chop depending on the wind, perfect for progressing without excessive crowding compared to neighboring spots in Soma Bay.

Local feature: the center organizes boat trips for kiting and provides transfers from hotels, with constant water surveillance by instructors. It is a reliable spot 365 days a year thanks to the topography that channels the wind.
