In the afternoon, the Ora takes over with a south (S) side-on wind, lighter between 8 and 16 knots, blowing across the beach for smooth sessions.
The navigation area extends in front of the beach of Assenza, facing Trimelone Island, with a wide and clear water surface suitable for freeride kitesurfing. Launching is done directly from the sandy shore, without major obstacles, and water entry is gradual even for accompanied beginners.
No tide on this lake, so the water surface remains constant: flat to light chop depending on wind intensity. Be cautious near the center to avoid swimmers in summer; local schools delineate areas dedicated to kites.
Ideal conditions are with the Pelèr from the north at 15-25 knots in the morning for perfect flat, or the Ora from the south at 12-18 knots in the afternoon for longer sessions. Avoid days without thermal winds, typical off-season.
The water surface is typically flat in the morning with the rising Pelèr, then shifts to moderate chop in the afternoon under the influence of the Ora and boating traffic. In strong breezes, small waves form, suitable for freeride but not for pure wave riding.
On Lake Garda, currents are generally weak due to the absence of tides, but they can strengthen locally with the Pelèr or the Ora near points like Trimelone Island. There are no marked channels in front of the beach, making navigation serene for most sessions.
Opt for sizes 9 to 12 m² with the strong Pelèr, and 11 to 14 m² for the lighter Ora. Intermediate to advanced riders find their happiness with a versatile quiver around 10-13 m².

In summer, air temperatures rise quickly, favoring the breeze, while in winter, the alpine cold can limit sessions despite persistent winds.
