Keros beach, located on the northeast coast of Limnos in the northern Aegean Sea, offers a wide bay of 3 km lined with fine white sand and crystal clear turquoise waters. It is a popular spot for kiters due to its shallow water and conditions suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced freestylers.
32 km east of Myrina, the capital of the island, and close to the village of Kalliopi, Keros beach is easily accessible and surrounded by preserved nature with pines and local vegetation. The beach is divided into three sections: a flat and shallow northern part ideal for learning, a middle section with moderate chop for jumps, and a southern part with small waves.
Kitesurfing schools like Surf Club Keros, Siroko, and KBC are located directly on the beach, making it easy to access equipment and lessons in an authentic and uncrowded setting.

Keros beach bay offers varied water conditions depending on the areas: in the north, ultra-flat and shallow water (up to several hundred meters from the shore), perfect for beginners and freestyle; in the middle, moderate chop and bumps for jumps; in the south, small waves for light wave riding. The main wind, the Meltemi, comes in side-shore from the northeast (NE) or north (N), sometimes northeast (NNE) or southeast (SE), making launching easy on sand.
The launch and landing area is wide on the 200 m of rocky beach reserved for kiters (the rest is overrun with seaweed or closed by buoys for bathers). Be cautious of areas prohibited by the port police on 2 km of beach to protect only 30 swimmers. Prefer schools for a safe navigation experience. The wind picks up in the afternoon, offshore in the north which keeps the water flat but can make returning technical if too strong.
No notable tidal influence, always sandy and shallow bottom. If drifting downwind, sand allows for easy relaunching at the southern end.
