Nearby, towards Morne, there are passes and reef areas with more pronounced waves for advanced riders. The current is generally weak at La Preneuse, but one must remain vigilant near the passes where it can intensify.
The ideal conditions are between 12 and 20 knots of wind from the southwest to the west. These conditions allow for smooth and safe navigation for all levels. With wind below 10 knots, navigation becomes difficult for beginners. Beyond 25 knots, conditions become more technical and reserved for experienced riders.
