The beach of Urville-Nacqueville, located on the northern coast of Cotentin in Normandy, is a large stretch of fine sand that opens onto the English Channel. It is a spot well-known to local riders thanks to the nautical base of Pôle Nautique Hague which offers kitesurfing, kitefoil, and other water sports activities.
The setting is wild with dunes in the background and a tranquil atmosphere, away from the crowds. You often encounter sailing schools and practitioners of windsurfing or land sailing.
Easy access from the D14, with parking close to the beach to load equipment without too much walking.

The beach of Urville-Nacqueville is oriented northwest, making it a spot that works well with winds from the N-NW to SE sectors. The dominant wind comes from the NW or W, often side-on from the left when blowing from the northwest, ideal for smooth navigation without too much drift.
Launching is done directly on the large sandy beach, with no obstacles, and a wide and clear take-off area. The navigation area extends several hundred meters offshore, but you need to stay vigilant about the tides as the beach dries out a lot at low tide.
At high tide, the water is more consistent and close to the shore, perfect for short sessions. At low tide, you can stand far out and have a vast space to practice, but the wind can drop near the shore if there is pure onshore from the southeast. Gusts are common with pure west wind, hence the interest in a cleaner NW. Local feature: proximity to the nautical base for backup equipment or lessons if needed.
