The beach of Goh Velin is oriented directly south, which favors side-shore to side-on winds when the wind comes from the south or west. Winds from south to west are the most effective, as they remain parallel to the beach and create a choppy water surface with small waves. The launch area is wide and sandy, with average space for takeoff and landing, and grass nearby to inflate the kite without hassle.
Depending on the tides, the water surface varies: at high tide, the navigation space widens and the waves remain small; at low tide, the beach extends but care must be taken not to get stuck in the sand.
