Trestraou beach, located in Perros-Guirec on the Pink Granite Coast in Brittany, is a long stretch of sand 1.4 km in the heart of the seaside resort. It is a popular spot for kitesurfing and wingfoiling due to its wide spaces and nearby water sports schools.
It attracts riders off-season when the water is more favorable and offers a friendly atmosphere with its areas dedicated to water sports. Surfers also come for its consistent waves, gentle in summer and more powerful in winter.
Close to the city center, it is a convenient place to combine sailing and a stroll on the family beach.

Trestraou beach is oriented west, which favors side-shore winds from the east or side-on from the northeast for kitesurfing. The wind is often moderate, around 20-25 km/h with gusts, ideal for controlled sessions. Launching is done directly from the fine sand, easy even for intermediates, with a wide take-off area in the center of the beach.
The water state varies with the tides: at low tide, it is more choppy with small waves (0.8-1.5 m) due to remnants of Atlantic or Channel swell, perfect for beginner freestyle or wave. At high tide, it improves to moderate chop, but be careful of the monitored swimming areas and the zone reserved for water sports. Typically sail offshore to avoid bathers in season, with enough space to turn.
Local feature: strong tidal range (up to 12 m in the region), which transforms the beach into a lagoon at certain times, but here it is more of a beach break. The best times are early mornings or late afternoons outside of summer, with east side-shore wind. Schools on site for courses.
