Located to the west of Le Havre, in immediate proximity to port infrastructures, the Ponant beach is a very specific spot, marked by its industrial environment and direct exposure to the English Channel. Composed of pebbles and facing the open sea, it offers powerful navigation in an atypical setting, where cargo ships, dikes, and the maritime horizon intersect. This spot is neither tolerant nor educational, but it can provide committed and intense sessions for experienced riders who can read the water and anticipate currents and maritime traffic.

Navigation takes place in open sea, on a pebble beach highly dependent on the tide and greatly influenced by the proximity of the port of Le Havre. At low tide, entry is technical due to the pebbles and slope. At high tide, the depth quickly becomes sufficient, but space at the shore is limited. The dominant wind blows from west to northwest, arriving side to side-onshore. The water is generally choppy to very choppy, with disorganized waves amplified by port structures.
