The Morgat beach faces the Douarnenez bay, making it ideal for south to southwest winds in side-shore or side-on, providing a smooth water surface protected by the surrounding reliefs. The launch area is directly from the wide sandy beach, easy to access, with a take-off zone on the dry sand near the nautical center.
The water surface varies little with the tides: it remains flat to light chop permanently thanks to the sheltered cove, perfect for freestyle or freeride. The navigation area extends several hundred meters offshore, without major obstacles, but one must remain vigilant of bathers in summer.
In southeast winds, the spot gains power and becomes side-off, while west winds are diminished. Schools like the CNCM use this spot for lessons year-round, except in high season when attendance increases. For advanced sessions, one can aim for the more open areas towards the nearby Aber.
