The Aber beach, located on the Crozon peninsula in Brittany, is a vast stretch of fine sand facing the Douarnenez bay. Less than 15 minutes from Crozon, it is the preferred kite spot for locals after Goulien, with a wild and protected setting that attracts bathers and sliders.
At low tide, it is 1250 meters long, offering a large sandy beach ideal for practice, although it shrinks significantly at high tide. You can walk to the Aber island when the sea recedes, and the spot is popular for kite sessions, especially outside the summer season.
Easy access via an elevated parking lot, it is an authentic place where surfers and kitesurfers cross paths, with a relaxed atmosphere away from tourist crowds.

The spot mainly works with winds from South/East, South, South/West, coming in side-on or side-shore relative to the east-facing beach. To the left of the beach, the water surface is smoother and flat as it is sheltered by the Aber island, perfect for freestyle or jumps.
Launching is done directly from the fine sand, with a large takeoff area on the wide beach at low tide. At high tide, the beach shrinks significantly, limiting ground space, so prefer low tide for more safety and comfort. The navigation area extends in front of the beach and towards the island, with a generally calm water surface to the left.
No lessons in July-August due to the influx, but it is ideal for experienced freeriders year-round in Douarnenez bay. The parking overlooks the beach, with access via a small path; be cautious of the shared space with bathers and foot fishermen.
