Plage du Vivier
France · Nouvelle-Aquitaine
The Vivier beach in Biscarrosse Plage, located at the extreme north of the city, is situated between the dunes and the Landes forest. It is a spot connected to the North beach, accessible via a beautiful wooded promenade. Riders appreciate the fine sand and the preserved natural atmosphere.
Kiteboarding is allowed even in summer, and this spot attracts surfers and kitesurfers for its varied conditions. Locals frequent it for its proximity to the city center and its views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Surrounded by typical Landes landscapes, with dunes and pines, it is an ideal place to combine a session and a walk.
Médias históricas por mês — não é uma previsão ao vivo.
The Vivier beach is oriented facing west, which means that west winds are onshore, often strong and gusty near the shore, making launching technical. The best winds are from south to north, with a preference for southwest, west, and northwest in side-shore or side-on, allowing for a cleaner water surface and smooth navigation offshore.
Launching is done directly on the sand, but be careful of the shore break at rising tide which can complicate launches. The launch area is on the wide beach, with preparation possible on dry sand; launch upwind to avoid drifting south. The navigation area is offshore, beyond 300 meters from the coast where the speed is limited to 5 knots, free afterwards but remain vigilant in regulated areas.
At low tide, pools offer flat areas for freestyle or foiling, but the water surface quickly becomes choppy with waves. At high tide, the waves grow and the current intensifies. Always check tides and coefficients, as the west swell generates powerful waves of 1 to 3m. In summer, free practice but watch for swimmers and surfers.
