Plage de Saint-Efflam
France · Bretagne
Saint-Efflam beach, located in northern Brittany in the Côtes-d'Armor, is a small sandy beach facing the bay of Lieue de Grève. It is a quiet spot favored by locals for its flat area and easy access from the municipal campsite.
Close to Plestin-les-Grèves, it offers a family-friendly setting with various water activities such as kitesurfing, windsurfing, and kayaking. The local water sports center animates the area during the season.
The atmosphere is relaxed, with an unobstructed view of the sea and trails for hiking around.

The spot works well with a side-on to side-shore wind coming from the northwest or west, which is the dominant orientation in Brittany. The beach faces approximately southeast, so a wind from the west-northwest sector ideally comes across the beach for comfortable navigation.
The launch area is a small sandy beach of moderate size, influenced by the tides: at high tide, the space is generous and the water rises to the edge; at low tide, it becomes technical with shallow areas and tidal conditions. The take-off area is the same beach, but be careful of the reduced space when it gets crowded.
The navigation area is wide in the bay, with a water surface that goes from flat to chop depending on the wind strength and tide. You can freeride close to the beach or move away for more space. A local peculiarity: the significant tides in the region completely change the spot, making navigation more technical at low water with shallow areas.
