Kersiny

The Kersiny beach, located in Plouhinec in Finistère, is a recognized kitesurfing spot on the Breton coast. With its rocks on either side and sandy beach, it offers a natural setting characteristic of the Breton coastline. It is a favorite spot for local riders due to its varied conditions and direct access from the adjacent campsite.

The spot benefits from a small reef that generates interesting conditions, particularly during sessions with established wind. Kersiny is one of the few relatively flat areas in the region, making it a popular alternative when other spots are too choppy.

Informazioni dettagliate

Kersiny works well with a wind from the west to northwest, offering side-shore to side-on conditions depending on the precise direction. The launch area is from the central sandy beach, between the two rock formations that frame the spot. The water surface varies significantly with the tides: at low tide, the beach widens significantly and the bottom becomes more accessible, while at high tide, the navigation space reduces but conditions become smoother. The small reef at the spot creates a particular dynamic, generating regular swells that enhance the quality of the water surface. The rocks present on both sides clearly delimit the navigation area and must be respected, especially during take-offs and landings. The spot is relatively sheltered compared to other areas of Finistère, making it an interesting option during very windy conditions elsewhere.
