Jonville

The Pont de Saire in Jonville, Normandy, is located at the back of the bay facing the island of Tatihou. It is a convenient spot for kitesurfing, about 2 km from the CNPS club which provides safety with a boat and equipment. The fine sandy beach stretches for several kilometers, ideal for launching.

The spot works well with winds from Northeast to Southwest, and offers a flat water surface at low tide. Locals practice freeride and freestyle there, especially when standing far out. At high tide, small waves form near the shore.

Close to Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, it is an accessible place with parking for launching kites. The nautical club animates the area with various water activities.

Informazioni dettagliate

The Pont de Saire mainly works at high tide, where the bay fills up and allows for free navigation. At low tide, the bay completely empties and the spot becomes impractical. Winds from South to West are side-shore from the right (the tip of Jonville), but often irregular at the bridge due to surrounding relief. With wind from Northeast to West, it is perfect side-on for flat water and freestyle. Launching is done directly from the sandy beach, with a launch area at the nearby parking. The navigation area is wide at the back of the bay, between the tip of Jonville on the left and Saint-Vaast on the right, but be careful to stay offshore to avoid too shallow areas at low tide. The water surface is mostly flat, ideal for freeride and tricks, with small 50 cm waves at the shore at high tide that fade quickly. The spot is often crowded when others are closed, so increased vigilance on traffic is necessary.
