Crique Porticcio
France · Corse
The Crique Porticcio is a small wild cove nestled in the maquis in Grosseto-Prugna, in southern Corsica. It is located near Porticcio, with difficult access and a calm environment even in high season.
It is a confidential spot appreciated for its tranquility, next to the beach of Viva. The water is clear and the setting remains preserved from crowds.
Kitesurfing is practiced here, as evidenced by videos of sessions on site, in an isolated atmosphere.
Medie storiche per mese — non è una previsione live.
The cove faces southwest, making it ideal for a side-on wind coming from the W or SW, typical of the Ajaccio region. The launch is directly from the narrow sandy beach, but space is limited so be careful not to obstruct occasional bathers.
The navigation area remains close to the shore due to the cove configuration, with a water state generally choppy with west wind that gets rough quickly, or flatter with offshore east wind. No large downwind areas, stay in the bay to avoid surrounding rocks.
Launching takes place on the narrow beach, prefer off-peak hours. Tides have little impact given the small size, but check the coefficients for local currents. Special feature: wild spot without a school on site, perfect for experienced independent riders.
