The Praia de Pontal is a typical ocean spot of the Nordeste, wide, clean, and predictable. The side-onshore wind, from east to southeast, blows between 18 and 26 knots every day during the season. The water surface is regularly choppy, with small spaced waves at high tide and a flatter surface at low tide. The sandy bottom, the infinite beach, and the controlled power of the wind make this spot a perfect playground for freeride. The more experienced love to set off from here for long downwinds to Fortim or Canoa Quebrada, along a wild coast dotted with red cliffs and deserted beaches.
