Base nautique de Plobsheim

Located south of Strasbourg, the Plobsheim water sports center is the main inland kitesurfing spot in Alsace. Set around a vast artificial body of water surrounded by greenery, this spot offers a peaceful and structured atmosphere, very different from marine spots. Here, everything is designed for supervised practice and progression: developed access, dedicated zones, and a secure body of water. When the wind sets in, the lake becomes a fluid and reassuring playground, perfect for learning, progressing, and working on technique away from choppy waters and the constraints of the sea. It is an essential local spot for riders in the Grand Est region.

Navigation takes place on a closed freshwater body of water, without tides or currents. The wind is mainly meteorological in origin, with dominant flows from west to southwest. When well-established, between 12 and 20 knots, it allows for clean sessions, although the wind can sometimes be irregular and gusty, typical of inland spots. The water is flat to slightly choppy, ideal for freestyle, foiling, and learning. The bottom is regular, with easy access from the authorized zones.
